Star Wars Battlefront Won’t Have Private Matches at Launch

Perhaps after launch?

Star Wars Battlefront

DICE’s Star Wars: Battlefront has had a rather mixed beta in the past couple of weeks due to balance and the overall nature of gameplay (though it was very successful with more than nine million participants). That’s not counting some of the criticisms against the lack of VoIP and server browser but it also seems that players will have other issues at launch.

According to the official EA Star Wars Twitter, “Star Wars Battlefront will not have private matches at launch.”

That’s a pretty big bummer but you can still invite friends to play with you for matches. We can’t say we particularly fault the lack of private matches, though games like Halo 5: Guardians and Rainbow Six: Siege will definitely have them. It could also be possible that private matches arrive after launch but we’ll have to wait and see.

Star Wars: Battlefront is out on November 17th in North America and November 20th in Europe for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. What are your thoughts on the lack of private matches? Let us know in the comments below.
