Fallout 4 Rated 18 in Japan, But It Won’t Be Censored

It may come as a shock to you, but Japan is also looking forward to Bethesda’s upcoming Fallout 4- a lot. Especially after the success of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim there, it makes sense that people want more, more, more- and Fallout 4 will give it to them.

In other cases, a context such as this would have meant that the news of Fallout 4’s CERO rating – it has been rated Z, which is the equivalent of an 18 in Japan – would have been bad news. A lot of stores don’t even carry Z rated games, while others place them in less prominent areas, where they are hard to find. This has usually led to games that have been rated Z to be censored, so that their rating can be more retail friendly. But publisher ZeniMax has confirmed that it will stick by the product as it is, meaning the Japanese will get the exact same cut of the game that the rest of the world will.
