Call of Duty Black Ops 3

There’s very little doubt that Activision and Treyarch are pretty excited about the impending release of Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. The two companies are hoping that gamers are going to be getting excited as well. To that end, Treyarch just released the PC Modding and Mapping tools that will be available when the game releases. In the same post, on the official forums, the company says there’s actually quite a bit more work to do but they have released the basics of what they will be able to bring.

The company added that most of the features of these mapping and modding tolls are still the alpha stages, so people shouldn’t be expecting where they will be when they are launched to remain the same for the duration. Among the features being offered are:

  • Players will be able to create Maps and Game Modes and more
  • There will be Unranked Dedicated Server Files with tools so players can run servers with modded content anywhere they choose
  • An Unranked Server Browser will allow players to easily find and join servers with modded content

The company added that there will be a closed Alpha in 2016. Of course, these features are only for people who are buying the game on the PC. It should be kept in mind if you are going out and getting the PS4 or Xbox One and expecting to see these things on those consoles. Black Ops 3 is launching on November 6, 2015 on the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
