DICE’s Star Wars: Battlefront is out this month for various platforms and while fans will be able to experience classic moments from the franchise’s prequel trilogy, it will tie into the upcoming Star Wars Episode 7: The Force Awakens. This will be through the upcoming DLC Battle of Jakku which takes place 29 years before the events of the film and allows players to witness the climactic battle that took place. Check out the teaser below for more information.

The Battle of Jakku is an important event in the Star Wars canon, taking place just a year after the Battle of Endor. The New Republic aka the Rebellion faced the scattered forces of the Galactic Empire in a critical battle that the former ended up underestimating. As a result, to avoid the Rebels gaining its valuable Star Destroyer Inflictor, the Empire scuttled the ship into the sands while losing the battle.

Players will receive the DLC for free on December 1st but those who pre-order Star Wars: Battlefront receive access a week earlier. The base game is out on November 17th in North America for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
