Call of Duty Black Ops 3

Since Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 has launched, the game has been getting largely positive reviews. It appears those reviews have led to quite a few people playing the game to the point where the game’s servers have actually had a bit of a problem. The weekend was supposed to be a double XP weekend but it turned out to be a weekend where the servers were having some real issues. This outage was the next in what actually became a long line of outages over the long Thanksgiving weekend.

The Playstation Network had some issues on Black Friday, likely because of all the people who were looking to get in on some great deals. On Saturday, on the official website, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 announced its servers were at Defcon 3, which stated “ONLINE SERVICES ARE DEGRADED. USERS IN SOME REGIONS MAY EXPERIENCE CONNECTIVITY ISSUES.” This of course means that players are able to take part in the single player mode, though that isn’t usually why people buy games in the Call of Duty franchise.

The multiplayer mode has long been the most popular part of any COD game and that’s why it was such a concern when the servers went down. Luckily, the outage doesn’t seem to have lasted all that long, as they were able to get them up and running by the end of the day. Activision hasn’t yet released an official statement on what happened so we won’t know for a while if the outage is something we’ll have to worry about in the future.
