Nintendo Gearing Up To Announce Something New At The Game Awards

Plus there will be a memorial for the late Nintendo president Satoru Iwata.

The Game Awards last year were legitimized because unlike the VGAs that came before them, they did not completely exclude Nintendo, but rather, embraced them as an integral part of the industry. Nintendo had a lot to show at The Game Awards last year- their world premiers there included Super Mario Maker, Codename STEAM, and, incredibly enough, The Legend of Zelda.

If you were thinking that that would change with this year’s edition, you were wrong- Nintendo Everything is reporting that Nintendo will definitely have something new to share at the awards show, though he was cagey about what it would be. He explicitly confirmed that the NX, Nintendo’s mysterious new system, would not be showing up at the event, which shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone, really.

Keighley also hinted at there being some sort of memorial for the late Mr. Satoru Iwata at the event- and considering just how tastefully well done the Sierra section was at the awards show last year, I have high hopes from this.

The Game Awards are going to be broadcast later this week. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more information.
