Final Fantasy 7 Remake

Since the remake of Final Fantasy 7 was announced, there has been plenty of excitement. There has also been plenty of people who are a bit worried that Square Enix is about to ruin something they hold dear. If there is something that could actually quell the feel of unease amongst some of the most ardent fans of the game, it’s that the changes are only going to make the game more immersive and interesting.

To that end, Square recently gave an interview with Famitsu where the company laid out the episodic approach is actually going to allow developers to make the world bigger. Venture Beat says the company has claimed there will be areas that weren’t explored in the original version of the game that will be in this version.

“For instance, players will be able to explore many different areas of Midgar in this game that they couldn’t access in the original —  if we’re remaking this world, we want to add in areas like this and depict them with real detail,” the translated interview from Square Enix attributed to Final Fantasy VII Remake’s director Tetsuya Nomura. “Of course, there may be parts that are cut from the original for various reasons, but with all the new depiction that we’re adding to the game and the level of detail we’re incorporating, the overall amount of content is only going to increase.” This is additional good news about the game, coming on the heels of the announcement it will be running on Unreal Engine 4. We don’t know the official release date for the Final Fantasy 7 remake yet but we’re already getting more excited.
