Final Fantasy 7 Remake

We’re getting more and more information on Final Fantasy 7’s remake, which will be released in several parts presumably starting in 2017. In an interview of the developers with Dengeki PlayStation (leaked by the Japanese blog Hachima Kikou, translated by DualShockers), we learn more about the game, some stuff that makes me excited, other stuff that makes me wary.

For instance, the entire game will be voiced- most characters will be using their voice actors from Advent Children, but those who weren’t in Advent Children will need new voice actors cast for them. We also learned a bit about the world map, learning that the game will not be open world- the developers seem reluctant to talk about the world map more.

We also learned that the date sequence will be in the game, though owing to different social expectations, it will have to be changed today. Minigames will also be in the game, though many of the smaller ones will have to be developed from scratch.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake will launch on PS4 first, in 2017 (the exact release date will be announced once World of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearst HD 2.8 have launched). Stay tuned for more information and coverage.
