Best PC Game of 2015

The best game on the world's favorite and most owned platform.

Posted By | On 30th, Dec. 2015

Companies like Blizzard Entertainment continued to enthral us with their offerings and various developers have showcased why the PC was the platform for the best visuals.

There were a significant number of top-tier third party titles that shined the brightest on PC like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Fallout 4. These games will live all the longer thanks to their modding capabilities but the best PC titles are those which didn’t quite shout about their brilliance from the rooftops. Some titles had a fair amount of hype behind them while others built acclaim on word of mouth and positive criticism. It did help that some of these games were recognized for their excellence on large stages like The Game Awards but for the most part, you really had to keep your ear to the ground to learn about the best PC games of 2015.

Nominees:

  • Undertale
  • Crypt of the Necrodancer
  • Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void
  • Cities: Skylines
  • Total War: Attila
  • Her Story

Winner: Undertale

Undertale

It’s hard to really explain why Undertale is one of the best games of the year, let alone the best PC game. The visuals aren’t even a complete afterthought – they perfectly fit the story being told of a young child navigating a world full of monstrous yet incredibly emotional beings. Do you want to be a murderer and lay waste to every enemy you come across? Go ahead. Do you want to make friends with the colourful NPCs you encounter, earning no XP in the process but perhaps retaining what makes you human? You most definitely can.

That’s not what makes Undertale so extraordinary, though the game reacting significantly to each one of your actions is a strong motivating factor. It’s the fact that the gameplay – which includes a bullet hell style game of dodging in its RPG battles – is so fluid and intriguing. There are so many options for fighting and so many different ways to experience Undertale that it significantly adds to the game replay value. For its innovation, story and top-tier gameplay, we have to give the nod to Undertale.
