Sony May Offer PS Plus Extensions To Compensate For PSN Outage Yesterday

That's good enough for me.

Yesterday, PSN went down unexpectedly.

This sort of thing happens way more often with PSN- scheduled maintenance is more visible and problematic on PSN than it is on other networks, and in general, PSN seems to be more liable to attacks and downtime than Xbox Live or Steam seem to be. Yesterday’s outage, however, was nearly 12 hours of no PSN. With so many games now being online only, PSN sales going on, and multiple events that needed PSN to be online – such as Destiny‘s The Iron Banner, or the Black Ops 3 world championships – this made the outage seem more egregious than it would have otherwise. The fact that we are now paying for PSN also didn’t help things.

To Sony’s credit, they said they will compensate users for the downtime suffered yesterday. On the official Twitter, they asked PSN users to stay tuned for details of a possible extension of their PS+ subscriptions, which is a fair enough compensation, in my opinion.
