Homefront The Revolution (1)

Homefront: The Revolution will be releasing on May 17. The long awaited and perennially in development Homefront: The Revolution is the sequel to the 2011 game by Kaos Media, which followed a controversial story where the United States is invaded by a united Korean communist front. Homefront was a success, though reviews were mixed, although it couldn’t make enough money to save its developer or its publisher.

This new game promises to realize the unique potential of the original by providing some genuinely fresh new takes on the multiplayer shooter. One of these is the Resistance Mode, which is a brand new four player co-op mode. In Resistance Mode, players form a Resistance Cell, and wage guerrilla warfare against the fictitious Korean military in thrilling narrative-driven missions across occupied Philadelphia. Resistance Mode combines all the fun of online multiplayer with the irreplaceable experience of a tightly scripted, story driven campaign.

Homefront: The Revolution is this team’s most ambitious project yet,” said Hasit Zala, game director at Dambuster Studios. “In addition to our epic 30-plus hour single-player campaign, we expect to launch Resistance Mode with 12 Missions, packed with re-playability, and hope to release another 20 Missions within the first year. To ensure our community can always play together, all Resistance Mode Missions will be free to download.”

With the launch date for the title looming, Deep Silver have also shared pre-order bonuses for Homefront: The Revolution. All pre-orders for the game will receive the Revolutionary Spirit pack, which gives players unique skins and instant unlocks of select weapons for the campaign. It includes the Red Skull motorbike skin and the Golden pistol skin for campaign along with instant unlocks of the Marksman Rifle, Sniper Scope and Remote Explosives for your Resistance Mode character.

Homefront: The Revolution launches on May 17 in North America, and May 20 everywhere else. It launches on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Deep Silver released a bunch of new screenshots today, as well as a brand new trailer. You can check all of this new media out below:
