Destiny The Taken King

Bungie’s Destiny received a range of different matchmaking configurations during Iron Banner week, reverting matchmaking to a more connection-based status. How long will it take to reach other playlists though?

According to Bungie’s official Twitter, the settings are already in effect for one playlist. “New matchmaking settings seen last week in Iron Banner are now live in Skirmish. Analysis continues before we apply them to more playlists.”

Until then, you’ll have to get used to sweating it out during Control, Clash and most likely the upcoming Crimson Doubles.

A furore was generated over Bungie’s skill-based matchmaking model, especially after months of complaints were met with denial. When the confirmation finally came, it was met with tons of backlash from fans. This prompted Bungie to communicate with its fans better and effectively switch over to a connection-based matchmaking model. Thus far, players have reported average changes in Iron Banner.
