XCOM 2 Performance Issues Under Investigation

"We want everyone to have the best experience possible."

Xcom 2

Firaxis Games’ XCOM 2 released last week to a wide amount of critical acclaim but has also been heavily criticized for its performance issues on PC. This was reflected in reports from players about frame rate troubles, stuttering and more. Our own graphical analysis confirmed that a stable 60 FPS frame rate with MSAA and V-sync enabled on a powerful rig was pretty much impossible to achieve.

Fortunately, Firaxis is aware of these issues. On the 2K forums, community manager Dave Hinkle said that, “We are aware some players have experienced performance issues while playing XCOM 2. We are looking into them and gathering more information from users.

“We want everyone to have the best experience possible, and will continue supporting the title with upcoming patches.”

For those looking for workarounds to present issues, you can check out the FAQ here for more information. In the meantime, wait for patches and play at medium settings while trying to save the world.
