Ubisoft Thinks For Honor Is More Of A Core Game

It's not expected to be a mass market game.

For Honor

Ubisoft has been talking a bit more about the upcoming title For Honor and the expectations from the firm are far from what you might expect. It appears Ubisoft understands the sword fighting game isn’t going to be one that is going to bring a ton of revenue but that doesn’t mean the company doesn’t think the title could find an audience. The company has talked a little about the game in the last few weeks. We know that while For Honor will have an online focus, there will also apparently be a robust solo campaign.

Speaking during an earnings call this week, Ubisoft Chief Financial Officer Alain Martinez described For Honor as a “core” title. This description is instead of something more mass market like Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, or Watch Dogs. The game was originally unveiled at last year’s E3 and it has long been thought of as something that will have players go against each other online.

The fact that this is being looked at by some as a kind of Destiny from the dark ages could actually lead to the game being more popular than  some expect. Despite Ubisoft downplaying its expectations of the game, For Honor is expected to be one of the five big titles the company is rolling out in the next year. As of now, there isn’t an official release date for the game.
