Street Fighter 5 May Get An Arcade Mode, Says Capcom

'We'll have information to share soon.'

Street Fighter 5 plays like a dream, but there are some undeniable issues with its launch- the problem with its servers not working during the first few days of the launch have been well publicized, but the game also has a severe shortage of content- Street Fighter 5 launched with very few single player modes- for example, there were no CPU Versus modes, and there was also no Arcade mode in the game.

This latter omission seems to be especially baffling- fighting games have always had an Arcade mode, for over two decades now. Why did Capcom decide to buck the trend with Street Fighter 5? Why leave players who prefer to play the game offline high and dry, and lacking in things to do?

While we don’t yet have an answer to that question, we do know that Capcom may patch the Arcade mode in eventually. “The team is looking into adding an Arcade Mode and we’ll have more information to share soon,” a Capcom representative told Forbes.

Hopefully it is within the next few months- Capcom plans on adding a Cinematic Story Mode (like the ones in the Mortal Kombat games) to Street Fighter 5 around June- right around then would be a great time to add an Arcade Mode too, and make the game a more well rounded experience for players who like to play it offline.
