Rainbow Six: Siege Server Update Now Out, Improves Ranked Play

Ubisoft sacrifice speed for quality- which is something they should look at doing more.

Ubisoft’s multiplayer only reboot of the classic Rainbow Six franchise, Rainbow Six: Siege, which they launched back in December last year, got a brand new update, at least on the server side. This update is aimed squarely at improving the quality of Ranked Play matches.

Ubisoft achieved this by changing the relaxation parameters for a players’ rated Skill Rank- in simple terms, it means that you’re going to be matched with players of or around your own skill level now, as opposed to it being more of a crapshoot as it was until this update. Until now, the matchmaking used to prioritize speed over accuracy- this should help remedy the situation a bit. The update is already available for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game, and should be applied to the PC version of the title shortly too.

Rainbow Six: Siege is available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
