Star Fox Zero will be, against all odds, actually launching next month, and not be getting delayed again. The title will be launching on April 22. Nintendo showed off a bit of it in the Nintendo Direct today, and while I am still not entirely convinced, at least it looks like they are trying to channel some classic Star Fox, which I guess fans will appreciate.
The game will also come with a new minigame, Star Fox Guard, which actually seems to utilize the Wii U Gamepad in a meaningful way. The minigame will come packaged with the retail version of the game- if you buy Star Fox Zero digitally, then you have the option to get Star Fox Guard additionally if you want to, as well.
Star Fox Zero launches April 22 exclusively on the Wii U. It is the first console bound installment in the Star Fox series in over ten years. You can check out a new trailer for it below.
