Mass Effect Andromeda Will Be Incredible, Retired Bioware Founder Believes

"I can't wait to play it as a consumer.'

Mass Effect Andromeda

Mass Effect Andromeda is one of the biggest teases in the industry right now. The fourth entry in the saga, and its return to the market after 2012’s Mass Effect 3 ended the original trilogy, is awaited with bated breath by players worldwide, but so far, we haven’t seen enough of the game to have anything substantive to get excited over. A lot of our excitement seems to be on faith.

That faith, however, will be rewarded- or that’s what Greg Zeschuk, Bioware’s founder who retired in 2012, believes anyway.

“I think people can be pretty confident it’s in really good hands,” Zeschuk said to Gamespot. “A lot of the folks working on it are core, Mass Effect team people. I know there’s been concerns like, ‘They’re going to go strange directions’ or whatever. But I’m pretty confident that what they have planned is going to be pretty incredible.

“I’m really pumped about it; I can’t wait to play it as a consumer,” he said. “The best thing about leaving BioWare is being able to play BioWare games without knowing everything that’s going to happen in them [laughs]. I’m really confident in what they’re doing and how they’re doing it.”

The general sentiment around Mass Effect Andromeda currently seems to be cautious optimism- players want it, but they are afraid that it will be perceived to be every bit as much of a misstep as Dragon Age Inquisition was. The Mass Effect fanbase is big, and it is vocal- it will be on Bioware to satisfy them all, while also living up to their own creative vision.
