Dishonored 2

Arkane Studios’ Dishonored 2 has been long anticipated, and we’re finally going to see it in action soon. Hopefully, Bethesda show it off at their E3 press conference next month as well- we’re excited to see just how far beyond the extremely impressive debut showing in 2012’s Dishonored the gameplay has evolved.

As for that, according to Arkane Studios’ Harvey Smith, the game represents a big leap forward from the first game. “Another [drive for Dishonored 2] was to see another corner of the empire. We have this world called the Empire of the Isles, which is a four-nation Isle chain in a big hostile ocean. In the first game, it’s set roughly in the 1830’s, while [Dishonored 2] is roughly set in 1851. We go down to the South, the Southern tip of the world, the edge of the world to Carnaca, the city they call the jewel of the South.

“It’s the capital of Serkonos and we give you a completely different culture, whereas Dunwall is very influenced by UK architecture, foods [and] culture. Carnaca is more like Spain, Italy Southern Greece…The music we play bouzouki instruments this time. It’s heavily influenced by both places…It’s a dramatic jump forward,” Smith told IGN.

Dishonored 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, but hey, maybe it will be announced at E3- hopefully it is out later this year. Fans of the original game definitely won’t want to wait much longer.
