A brand new, live event for gamers, one that will be open to the general public, has been announced. E3 Live 2016 will be held simultaneously alongside E3 2016. Entry to the event will be free (the entry passes don’t cost any money, although they are first comer, first serve), and it will be held at L.A. Live, not too far away from the Los Angeles Convention Center where the industry-only event is taking place.
This marks an attempt from the ESA (the guys behind E3) to rejuvenate interest in the annual industry event by getting the public to participate- undoubtedly aimed as a counter at all the allegations that E3 is growing irrelevant over time. And sure- industry players like Nintendo, Sega, Activision, Disney, and EA are all indeed opting out of the show increasingly. But I suppose ESA plans to counter that by getting the pulse of the industry, the customers, involved.
If you’re interested, you can find out how to get your hands on a ticket over on the E3 Live page. Otherwise, if you won’t be able to attend, look forward to GamingBolt’s extensive live coverage during the event.
