Persona 5’s E3 Trailer Is… The Exact Same Thing We Got Last Month

It's not even dubbed...

So, E3. We were supposed to get some new media for Persona 5, and we did. We were also supposed to be getting a look at the game’s localization, and that really hasn’t happened. See, Atlus USA just uploaded their E3 trailer for the game. This is good.

The problem is, it’s the exact same trailer we got last month when Persona 5‘s (Japanese) release date was announced. It’s not even dubbed! Instead, we just have subtitles here- especially ironic, considering that the final game won’t be offering the option of playing with a Japanese dub and English subs to players.

Anyway, it’s still a good trailer. Plus, the sub gives us an idea of what kind of writing to expect from the final game once it releases in English. Spoiler alert: it’s still sharp, witty, and good. Still, it’s hard not to feel disappointed. Which is par for the course at this point for a western Persona fan, I suppose.

Persona 5 launches on PS3 and PS4 on February 14, 2017.
