With Marvel promoting the upcoming PS4 exclusive Spider-Man game as the cornerstone of their upcoming AAA video game strategy, and with Marvel having this ‘It’s all connected’ thing going for all of their ventures, one might have assumed that Spider-Man the game would somehow tie into the Marvel Cinematic Universe too.

As it turns out, it won’t. Speaking on Twitter, Insomniac Games confirmed that the game will be set in its very own universe, and that, unlike the MCU Spider-Man, they will be going for a more experienced Peter Parker. Of course, this doesn’t mean that they might not make other games (or even comics) set in this same universe later, but this game itself does not overlap with any other Marvel property out right now.

They also confirmed that they will not be putting out a demo for the game at all. They confirmed that they have been developing the game for over a year, but as of right now, they also refused to give any sort of time frame for when we might expect it to be released.
