By any standard, the Xbox 360 and Xbox One controllers are among the best, most comfortable controllers ever made- and they are certainly far more comfortable and better than either the Wii U controller, or the DualShock 4. So it can be argued that PC owners already have the best controllers available to them- but if they do prefer the DualShock 4 to Xbox offerings, then they may be in luck.
According to a patent filing lodged by Sony with the US FTC and picked up by DualShockers, Sony may be working on an adaptor to make the DualShock 4 compatible with the PC. A lot of unofficial solutions for this already exist, but something with official driver support from Sony would probably be best, especially for those who don’t want to muck around with the murky world of unsupported hacks.
Of course, most PC versions of games usually presume an Xbox controller to be the one that will be used with them by default, including in tutorials and in the UI, so while this may let PC players play with the physical PS4 controller, the experience is likely to be a lesser one compared to what they would have were they to just play with the (superior, in my opinion) Xbox controllers instead.
