The one thing that can always be said for Japanese auteur video games director Hideo Kojima, of Metal Gear fame, is how he likes to hide himself in his own creations some times. The most memorable instance of this was when he had to be rescued in a mission in Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes– and now, it seems like something similar may be happening in the upcoming Death Stranding, his first game made independently of former employer Konami, as well.

Why do we think so? Well, mostly because a tweet was posted of Kojima in the studio where Death Stranding is being shot, apparently being shot himself- given the cryptic nature of most of Kojima’s teases, is this a hint that he may end up being in Death Stranding?

Another hint that was shared was by Midge Ure, the Scottish singer (among other things, he is known for covering David Bowie’s The Man Who Sold The World; his version of the song is very prominently featured in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain) – he posted a picture of himself in a Kojima Productions T-shirt, saying ‘today is a Kojima Productions kind of day.’ What does this mean? Does this mean that he, too, is involved in Death Stranding in some capacity? One would say that the tweet is pretty explicit on that account.

Hopefully, these are all questions that we will be getting answers to soon. Death Stranding is due out on PlayStation 4 first, followed by a release on PC. It will be Hideo Kojima’s first game since leaving Konami after an acrimonious split.
