Killing Floor 2

Looks like Killing Floor 2 will end up utilizing Sony’s Checkerboard rendering technique for its PS4 Pro version. While the game won’t run in 4K, even upscaled 4K, on Sony’s new console, PS4 Pro owners will still get a variety of visual enhancements that will be unavailable to standard PS4 owners.

The enhancements include a resolution of 1800p with Checkerboard rendering (3200×1800, optimized for 4KTVs), supersampling and increased frame rate (though how that will work is unclear, given that Sony mandates frame rate parity for multiplayer games across PS4 and PS4 Pro), and Ultra textures. On the whole, it’s promising to be a noticeable visual step up from the standard PS4 version of the game, at the very least.

You can check out a trailer for the PS4 Pro version of the game in 4K below. Killing Floor 2 is set to launch on PC and the PlayStation 4 family of consoles on November 18.
