One of the reasons that the modding scene in Bethesda’s games is as thriving as it is is because of just how buggy these titles are- they ship with a lot of glitches and errors, and even though Bethesda usually try to address them with patches and updates, a lot of them go unfixed. That’s where the modding community steps up, fixing what Bethesda fail to.
That’s what the Skyrim Special Edition Unofficial Patch mod does for the game. The mod is available now on PC and Xbox One, it fixes ‘hundreds of gameplay, quest, NPC, object, item, text and placement bugs.’ Not just that, but the mod is specifically designed to be compatible with as many other mods as possible, and will be consistently updated to fix all other bugs and glitches in the game’s code, too.
The mod is available now on PC (via Nexus Mods) and Xbox One (via the Bethesda Workshop). It is not yet available for the PS4, and given the 1GB memory limit that mods on that platform are subjected to, it is actually not quite clear whether it ever will be. Skyrim‘s remaster is available now on Xbox One, PS4, and PC. A version for the Nintendo Switch may be announced later.
