Destiny 2 Story And Location Rumor Debunked By Bungie

Destiny awaits...but not yet.

Destiny 2 (7)

A new rumor for Destiny 2, the sequel for the shared world shooter expected to launch next year, had been doing the rounds recently. The rumor purported to speculate that the Cabal will be a major player in Destiny 2, and that the moon of Mars, could be a prominent location in the game.

However, speaking on his Twitter, Bungie’s David Candland roundly rejected the speculation and rumor, noting that it was entirely false. It is to be kept in mind that Bungie never respond in this way to true rumors- they don’t respond to them at all. So there may be absolutely no truth whatsoever to this rumor after all (even if some if it ends up resembling what Bungie have planned for the sequel).

Destiny 2 is expected next year. Presently, Destiny: Rise of Iron is playable on Xbox one and PS4, with older, unsupported versions of the game also out on Xbox 360 and PS3.
