Bioware On Mass Effect Andromeda Release Date: There’s No Reason To Be Worried

'We're focusing on that, that's our objective.'

Mass Effect Andromeda has been a long time coming, but we’ve consistently been promised that we will see it early next year. Originally, the promise was that the game would be out by March, before the current ‘Spring 2017’ release window actually pushed it ahead by three months further. And now, with the game having been finally revealed, the release window still remains ambiguous- ‘Spring 2017’ is all Bioware will say about when the game is coming.

Should fans be worried? According to Bioware, no. Speaking to Eurogamer in an interview, producer Fabrice Condominas mentioned that there is nothing to be worried about as far as the release date goes. “There’s absolutely no reason to be worried. BioWare is all about quality and believe me – the team is extremely aware of how fast that is coming!” he said, laughing. “But we’re focusing on that – that’s our objective. Maybe we’ll need two extra days? When we’re 100 per cent confident we can go to certification on a certain date, then we’ll give a very specific date. In the meantime, we’re focusing on quality and every day counts. We don’t want to pressure that.”

That sounds fair- and if something like this means that once a final date has been announced, there will be no further delays, then I am all for it. It would be such a refreshing change of pace and routine from how things usually are in the industry now. Mass Effect Andromeda will launch on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
