Super Mario Run Downloaded 37 Million Times In Three Days

The game continues to impress with the numbers it is pulling.

It looks like there really is no stopping the Super Mario Run juggernaut. The game, which saw a record breaking debut in its first day, having been downloaded 10 million times from the iOS App Store, somehow managed to generate even more excitement in subsequent days.

App Annie are reporting that the game was launched 37 million times in the first three days after its launch, with 11 million of those – so almost a third – coming from the United States alone. On average, players are apparently spending an average of over five and a half minutes per play session with Super Mario Run, and playing the game 2.5 times a day. This means that players are playing the game for at least 13 minutes daily on average.

Now, some caveats to these numbers- for starters, remember that these numbers are limited only to the iOS ecosystem, because the game hasn’t actually launched on Android yet (which makes them even more impressive, in my opinion). However, tempering that, remember that these numbers aren’t separating users who downloaded the game from the users who paid $10 to unlock all of it- so 37 million downloads hasn’t all translated into revenue for Nintendo yet.

Still, these are great, big numbers, and yet another mobile win for Nintendo. Makes you wonder what exactly the problem with Nintendo investors really is.
