Fire Emblem Heroes Starts Strong In Japan, Leading To Nintendo’s Share Value Spiking

What does a 'normal' Nintendo mobile game look like?

Nintendo’s newest mobile game, Fire Emblem Heroes, appears to have started out strong, with the game topping the free downloads charts in Japan’s iOS App Store, and landing on the third place in the top grossing chart. Its performance seems to be reflected elsewhere, too, with with the game being #2 on the American App Store’s download charts (#5 on Canada’s), and at #22 (and counting) on the Top Grossing Chart.

Fire Emblem Heroes eschews the weird payment mechanics of Super Mario Run that proved to be so controversial with the mobile market, and goes for a traditional free to play mobile game style- you spend money for a chance at unlocking characters, that you then use in 4v4 6×6 Fire Emblem battles. The market appears to have taken to the game well.

The result of this is that Nintendo’s share value has risen up by as much as 6.33% in Japan- investors, it seems, are happy that Nintendo at last has a ‘normal’ mobile game on the market. Fire Emblem Heroes is available to download now on iOS and Android smartphones.
