PS4 Firmware 4.50 Lets You Deactivate Your Primary System Remotely

An actual fix to this problem, at last.

Posted By | On 06th, Mar. 2017

Sony’s handling of how multiple systems log into the same account is a bit convoluted on the PS4, but it’s largely fair. For the most part. There are still some issues, such as the inability to change your primary system associated with your account with anything other than the system that is primary to begin with, short of a once per six month option to force a logout from your account for all devices signed into it.

This has often led to issues for a lot of players who have found their accounts compromised, with no way to reclaim them. With the upcoming PS4 firmware update 4.50 however, it looks like Sony will finally let you change the primary system your account is associated with remotely, via another PS4 system. Doing this once leads to a 24 hour lock, which is significantly better than the six moth long waiting period you get for forcing a sign out.

Other PS4 4.50 features include external hard drive support. Stay tuned to GamingBolt, and we’ll keep you posted on more news about the update.
