Konami has announced that Metal Gear Survive, the survival stealth spin-off to the series that takes place after Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, has been delayed to early 2018.
The publisher told Polygon that the game was delayed to afford more time to the development team for polishing it. Furthermore, Konami said that the game has a “dense single-player mode”.
Co-op action still remains as four players can band together to explore the world, partake in missions, sneak around and hunt mysterious zombie-like creatures in the alternate reality all the better.
Metal Gear Survive is about the Mother Base soldiers at the end of Ground Zeroes being sucked up in a wormhole to this alternate world filled with zombies.
The game features a modified version of The Phantom Pain’s Afghanistan map and players will have to scavenge around for supplies to defend themselves. The game is currently playable at E3 2017 so look for gameplay footage to emerge soon.
