Gran Turismo Sport May Be Launching November 16

Sony having a major Holiday exclusive? Impossible!

Posted By | On 19th, Jun. 2017

Gran Turismo Sport has been a long time coming- we still don’t actually now if the final game will live up to the now significantly diminished hype that surrounds the series, but for fans of the franchise, it’s coming. It’s almost here. And ‘almost here’ may now have a concrete date, rather than the vague and ambiguous ‘2017’ release window that has been associated with the game since its delay last year.

According to the newest issue of the Official PlayStation Magazine, it seems like the game may be launching on November 16. Now, this could very well be a typo, or it could e a case of an announcement slipping through the press earlier than it was supposed to- we don’t actually know, but OPM has a reasonably good track record of being accurate with things like these.

A November release would mean Sony has a major Holiday release for the PS4 for the very first time ever, but it would also mean that the game is going up against some major heavy hitters- games like FIFA, Call of Duty, Star Wars Battlefront, Assassin’s Creed, Mario, and Pokemon– and it’s not yet clear if it could possibly hold its own against them, especially after the diminished stature the series holds. Here’s hoping the game turns out great, and does well through word of mouth, if all else fails.
