Microsoft Confirms That They Will Be Publishing PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds on Xbox One

If this game is a complete Xbox console exclusive, that will be a major win for Microsoft.

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds

Microsoft may lack many major meaningful exclusives for the Xbox One, but they seem to be going all in, and going hard, on the Xbox version of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, the hit sensation battle royale game on PC, which was announced for Xbox back at E3. Microsoft reiterated that the Xbox version will be ‘exclusive’ for consoles, which seems to imply that the title is not going to launch on PS4 any time soon.

The Xbox One version of the game will be launching in Xbox Preview, and will apparently be striving for parity on Xbox One with the PC version of the game. PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds isn’t much of a looker, but it is a pretty hardware intensive game, so it is pretty impressive that the Xbox One version can keep pace.

Microsoft also confirmed that the Xbox One version of the game will be published by them- if this means that Microsoft has rights for the console version, it seems to imply the game will never come to PS4, but as of right now, we have no confirmation- if this is true, it’s a major win for Microsoft. Hopefully we get the air cleared on this soon.
