Final Fantasy 15’s Standalone DLCs Won’t Be Integrated In The Main Game

Director Hajime Tabata confirms.

Square Enix has been updating Final Fantasy XV, having released patch 1.15 only recently. The game has been kept alive thanks in part due to the efforts by the team to release the upcoming DLC such as the Assassin’s Festival DLC which features a crossover of the Assassin’s Creed Series with Final Fantasy XV, even going so far as to include the former’s mechanics in some way,.

Furthermore, 2 character DLCs have been released so far, Episode Gladiolus and Episode Prompto, although these have been standalone experiences. A third one focusing on Ignis is also due in the future. However, the developers have no plans to integrate these DLCs in the main game.

Dualshockers spoked to the game’s Director Hajime Tabata whether there were any plans to integrate such character DLCs into the main game’s story, and he confirmed there are no such plans. However, Tabata-san and his team have been hard at work in trying to gauge the interests of the player community, and to try and provide DLCs for those characters which are most requested.

The team is all set to release a pocket version of the game, and has also teased a possible release on the Switch. The game’s definitive version will likely be the PC version set to release in early 2018. All in all, there seems to be a lot left to come for fans of the game.
