The WWE 2K franchise has been in something of a rough patch for the last few years. In some way or the other, the last three years’ games have all disappointed fans of the series, while the last truly good game in the series itself, which was WWE 2K14, wasn’t a very special game in any way to begin with. It’s thanks to its license that it automatically attracts a large number of players more than anything else at this point. But if what we’ve heard and seen of the upcoming WWE 2K18 so far is anything to go by, maybe this year’s game is going to be the one to finally pull the series out of its slump. It’s making several improvements, adding a number of new features, and if 2K also make sure to upgrade the game’s visuals department, then we might just have another great wrestling game on our hands.

Here in this feature, we’re going to take a look at fifteen things that have us cautiously optimistic about WWE 2K18. So without further ado, let’s jump right in.

THE ROSTER

Just like WWE 2K17 last year and WWE 2K16 the year before that, this year’s game is going to feature the biggest roster in the series to date, breaking that specific ceiling for the third year in a row. Fans can of course expect to see superstars such as Brock Lesnar and John Cena included in the roster, but other than the obvious picks, 2K18 is also going to be the debut for 29 new superstars.
