Super Mario Odyssey, Nintendo’s newest open-world game for the Switch console will be taking the series to a sandbox world where players will have a lot of freedom to choose how to explore the world around them.

We had recently received a look at sections of Mario exploring the Cascade Kingdom. Now, Nintendo has released a five-minute overview trailer for the game. The trailer showcases the many abilities Mario will gain through Cappy (the sentient hat that Mario wears) such as using it in combat, and also using it to take control over objects and creatures in the environment.

Furthermore, we also get a glimpse of the Odyssey ship that Mario will use to travel between kingdoms. The game will also feature a Snapshot Mode which will allow players to take photos in-game in either portrait mode or a landscape mode and also allows for the use of a number of different filters.

Finally, the trailer also offers a glimpse of the various mini-games as well as the multiplayer gameplay. The game is set to release for the Nintendo Switch on October 27th.
