Nioh’s PC Version Will Allow Fully Customizable Resolution and Framerate Settings To PC Players After All

Plus, no Denuvo either, so it's good news all around.

When Nioh was announced for the PC, many got excited- here was one of the most exciting PS4 exclusives coming to PC, a platform where games of its ilk had found such success! Except, that excitement soon dissipated when Tecmo announced that, much like the PS4 version of the game, the PC version would be locked to preset settings favoring resolution or framerate- something that PC players don’t take kindly to.

However, it sounds like that might have been a miscommunication, because, speaking to WCCFTech, Team NINJA’s Game Director Fumihiko Yasuda confirmed that independently of these preset options, PC players will be able to tweak settings to their liking.

“We introduced these two modes as pre-set graphical options. This means that the resolution, rendering quality and framerates are independent options that can be altered by the player,” he said. So that’s good news.

Yasuda also confirmed that the game will have no Denuvo, the controversial DRM that leads many PC players to boycott prominent PC releases. That said, he did drop one bit of disappointing news, which is that the PC version of the game will not support ultrawide monitors. It’s a niche segment of the market that would want them, but I have no doubt they will be disappointed nonetheless.

Nioh is out now on the PS4, and launches next month on PC.
