Konami’s Metal Gear Survive hasn’t received a ton of information since its initial announcement but that could change tomorrow. The publisher has teased an announcement for October 25th, though the timing and details of the same weren’t confirmed.
Metal Gear Survive has the notorious distinction of being the first Metal Gear title announced since series creator Hideo Kojima left Konami. Set in an alternate world following the events of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, it sees a group of Mother Base soldiers attempting to survive and rebuild amidst the threat of zombies. The series’ signature sneaking elements coincide with scavenging, cooperative multiplayer and survival mechanics.
Delayed to early 2018, Metal Gear Survive was heavily criticized for its supernatural elements, though Konami’s use of the license following its acrimonious split with Kojima has also been poorly received. The game is scheduled to release for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Perhaps tomorrow’s announcement will offer a release date? We’ll find out in due time.
