Fortnite Battle Royale

Even as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds sells well and prepares for its Xbox One launch, Epic Games’ Fortnite: Battle Royale is providing extremely popular. The company revealed on Twitter that server issues over the weekend were caused due to 811,000 concurrent users. The most significant record till this point has been 525,000 concurrent users from when the free to play title first launched.

Fortnite: Battle Royale functions much like PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds with 100 players on a single map and vying for the rank of “Last man standing”. Along with colourful visuals, the game distinguishes itself by being free to play and allowing players to build (or tear down) various structures.

A patch is inbound for Fortnite: Battle Royale later today and it will offer optimizations for a “smooth and stable experience”. Other features include an uncapped frame rate on PS4 and PS4 Pro, the ability to mute players, higher drop rate on items and much more. The patch goes live at 4 AM ET so expect more information on the same today.
