EA Dev On Star Wars Battlefront 2 Loot Crates Controversy: We’re The Trendy Target At The Moment

Oh boy...

Star Wars: Battlefront 2 has been quite the hot topic of discussion these days, not least because of its controversial monetization model in the form of paid loot boxes. Add to that reports of other things, such as EA’s shuttering of Dead Space developer Visceral Games, and the megaton publisher has been subject to a great deal of public scrutiny and critcitism.

One particular EA employee, Sean, recently took to Twitter to voice his opinions on the same, and said that while he and everyone at EA appreciates constructive criticism, hurtful criticism helps no one. In one of four posts, Sean mentioned that EA are, as they ever have been, a trendy target, thanks to Star Wars Battlefront II’s loot crates, and accused a great deal of people for being critical just for the sake of it, rather than actually coming out with constructive criticism.

There has indeed been a lot of stuff said about EA and its monetization policies in the last few weeks, perhaps much more so than it has ever been the case, and while Sean’s comments about constructive criticism make sense, it shouldn’t be forgotten that fans and players have every right to be upset about EA’s microtransactions and Battlefront II’s loot boxes.

Star Wars Battlefront II launches for the PS4, Xbox One and PC on November 17. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
