The PlayStation Awards are a sort of ceremony that Sony holds to felicitate games that sell well in Japan and Asia. Games which end up selling 500,000 units, 1 million units, and 2 million units are all offered prizes, as are games that perform well on the PSN Store. There are also User’s Choice awards, to recognize the 10 favorite games from Japanese and Asian PlayStation owners for that year.
And this year, for the second year running, Persona 5 managed to snag itself a User’s Choice award. Presumably, it was eligible because its release in Asian territories was staggered into this year. Elsewhere, Minecraft won the solo Double Platinum award, while 14 games won awards across the Gold and Platinum categories. You can check out the full list below.
What you should also check out, if you have not already, is Persona 5– it launched on April 4 on PS4 and PS3, and is, without a doubt, one of the best games of the year, and also on the PS4.
