PlayStation Network Will Let You Change Your Username Soon

Hopefully within the next year.

Sony Interactive Entertainment America CEO Shawn Laydan revealed some much welcome news at last night’s PlayStation Experience event. It looks like some time within the near future, PSN users will be able to finally change their usernames at will.

When he was pressed by the audiences to answer the question of when the PlayStation Network will allow players to change their user IDs, Laydan did not exactly give a very specific answer, though he did confirm that Sony are working on making changes to their online service. Laydan confirmed that within the next one year, PSN users should be able to change their user IDs, before saying that hopefully people won’t have to ask this same question at next year’s PSX.

That was all he said though. No more details were given, so we’re hoping that we’ll be hearing more about this in the coming weeks and months. Also, we really do hope that Sony won’t charge people extra money just so they can change their username. Either way, stay tuned to GamingBolt, and we’ll keep you updated on any new info that comes our way.
