Xbox One Gets a Price Drop in Japan

How much will this actually affect Xbox One sales there though?

Posted By | On 30th, Jan. 2018

Microsoft’s Xbox One isn’t doing all that well in Japan- I mean, Xbox has never done well there, but the Xbox One is a special kind of not doing well there, with total sales of the entire family of systems not even having crossed half a million in the years since its launch.

Maybe in an attempt to actually get some units to move in the land of the rising sun, Microsoft has announced a price drop for the 1TB model of the Xbox One S. The price has dropped from 34,980 yen to 29,980 yen for the Forza Horizon 3 and Halo: The Master Chief Collection SKUs. The Minecraft SKU has dropped from 39,980 yen to 34,980 yen as well.

This actually makes the Halo and Forza models cheaper than the PS4, though of course, that is unlikely to actually help the Xbox One much in Japan. Maybe Microsoft can try soliciting some Japanese support for the system…
