Nintendo Suspends Ability For Users to Review eShop Games on Switch

That lasted, what, all of two days?

Nintendo made it possible for users to review games on the Nintendo witch eShop by using the Nintendo eShop webstore earlier this week; now, just days later, they have suspended the ability to do so. I told you all this was going to end up happening.

Nintendo has taken down the feature for now, and in a statement they have left there in its stead, they have specified that they are “evaluating” the feature and its functionality. They also specify that they currently do not have any estimated date for when the feature might be made available to users again, which is them as good as admitting that it is dead.

Reading between the lines, I have to assume that users were leaving objectionable content in their reviews (which is a thing that happens any time there are user reviews anywhere) that made Nintendo cull the feature. It’s a bummer, but oh well: very honestly, it’s not like user reviews are all that useful, anyway.
