PS5 May Have 8-Core Zen CPU, Navi-Based GPU And GDDR6 Memory – Rumor

Technical specifications of the console have also allegedly been discovered.

The PS5 may be coming sooner than we’d expected, if an article posted by SemiAccurate’s Charlie Demerjian is to be believed. According to the article, they are sharing some solid information about the PS5’s specifications.

Based on the details shared in the article, the PS5 seems to be quite impressive technically, sporting an  APU composed of an 8-core Zen CPU and a Navi-based GPU. The console could also feature GDDR6 memory which  was only recently made available.  Additionally, the console is being made with VR optimization in mind.

The article also goes on to state that development kits have already been sent out to developers which means that the console will release much earlier than anticipated, either towards the end of 2018 or in early 2019. However, this seems unlikely as the PS4 is still very much alive with a number of exciting upcoming games for the console.

We’ll have to wait for more official information before anything can be confirmed so take this report with a grain of salt. Do you think the PS5 will release soon? Let us know in  the comments.
