For Honor Crosses 10 Million Registered Players

Ubisoft's medieval themed fighting game has been a runaway success for them.

Ubisoft’s medieval fantasy fighting game/multiplayer arena action title For Honor has been, in spite of multiple missteps and early stumbles, a success for the company. In February, Ubisoft had confirmed that the game had a total of 7.5 million registered players, with over 1 million players active on a daily basis- eye-wateringly massive numbers by any measure.

Now, those numbers have grown even bigger (or one of them has, we didn’t actually hear about the other one)- Ubisoft has announced during its financial briefing for the previous quarter that the game has now crossed 10 million registered players worldwide, which is a big number by any metric. Now, do bear in mind this doesn’t necessarily mean sales (and players who registered for the game’s free weekend would also be counted in this tally)- but it’s still a sign of the game’s success. Interestingly enough, For Honor has also been a huge contributor in Ubisoft’s back catalog that has earned them quite a bit of revenue this quarter.

Going forward, it will be interesting to see how Ubisoft plans to keep the community engaged in the game. To their credit, they have been unusually engaged and responsive to fan feedback in the last few months. Hopefully that continues. For Honor is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
