Data miners have found a file in GTA Online that has led them to the Stone Hatchet, a Red Dead Redemption 2-based weapon, and then have gone on to actually unlock the weapon in game. This can be seen in a Youtube video over here. It shows what the weapon itself looks like, and what connection it has with Red Dead Redemption 2 itself.

The Stone Hatchet is part of a challenge in GTA Online that hasn’t yet gone online, but data miners have managed to unlock it nonetheless. The challenge tasks players with completing five bounties in total for Maude Eccles, who will contact you in-game via text. Once you bring the five bounties back to Eccles, you will receive the coordinates where you’ll get the Stone Hatchet. The weapon comes with the Rampage ability, which reduces the damage you take, while also increasing the speed with which your health regenerates.

Interestingly enough, once you have the Stone Hatchet, if you use it to kill a total of 25 people, you will unlock some GTA dollars, while you will also receive access to the weapon in Red Dead Redemption 2 itself. You can take a look at the entire process in the video linked above- this particular bit of info comes near the end of the video (as does the weapon itself).

Red Dead Redemption 2 launches for the PS4 and Xbox One on October 26. If recent reports are to be believed, Rockstar may be holding a second preview event for select members of the media, so be on the lookout for more info on the game in the coming days and weeks.
