PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds- Update 19 Introduces New Mode In Test Servers, QoL Improvements, And More

Limb penetration, new deathmatch mode, performance upgrades, and more.

Developers PUBG Corp. have released a new update for the PC version of their popular online shooter PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Update 19 brings several changes with it, and though neither of them can really be described as game changing, they do introduce a number of performance upgrades and quality-of-life improvements that should make the entire experience a little more user-friendly.

Among the changes made to the actual gameplay itself, perhaps the most interesting has to be the one pertaining to limb penetration, which now dictates that forearms will now be subject to the bullet penetration system, and bullet hitting forearms will do damage based on their ballistic curve. Essentially, if your character is holding their forearm in front of one of their weaker body parts (torso, head), the damage they take will vary.

Meanwhile, thanks to the new update, the game’s lobby theme, loading screens, and lobby music have all been reverted to their ordinary state. Additionally, dropping items that are stacked should be more organic now, since players will be able to adjust the quantity of what they’re dropping via a slider.

Meanwhile, players can now also place markers on the map without having to pull up the entire map in full screen first. Eliminated teammates can also place markers on the map now, as long as they haven’t left the game after dying. Additionally, dynamic weather conditions such as rain and fog have been added to both new maps, Miramar and Erangel. Plenty of bugs have also been fixed, such as one where destroying doors with grenades or molotovs resulted in no debris being shown.

Most interesting, though, is the addition of a brand new mode in Test Servers. That mode is War Mode: Conquest, and is pretty much your regular deathmatch with respawns, with having to reach a certain score first within a set time limit to win the match (or having the highest number of points before the clock runs down).
