Fortnite Starts Messing With Its Players’ Heads, Gets A Random Mysterious Cube on the Map

What fresh insanity is this?

Fortnite Battle Royale

Epic Games is known to pull weird and amazing story events in Fortnite: Battle Royale- they had the meteor showers which totally changed the map, they had the rocket launch, and the ensuing weird rifts in the sky, they even had the ARG that started randomly spawning items from the game map in the real world. It’s been fascinating to see how they handle the course of progression.

And now, they’ve gone ahead and done something else. Earlier today, random lightning bolts started to drop on the map, getting quicker and more intense each time they hit a cactus in the newly spawned desert on the map, until finally, one of them landed a gigantic purple cube in the desert. What is this cube? No one knows, but it glows with mysterious symbols when you get close to it. It recharges your shields, but if you get too close to it, it will knock you back. And don’t… attack it, because it seems to attack back. With a giant bolt of some energy.

You can see a link of Fortnite streamer Ninja discovering this cube for the first time through here.
